Would you like to learn more about what's happening across the state to increase access to computing education for all students? If so, please consider registering for the 2016 Maryland Computing Education Summit on April 12. With funding from an ECEP minigrant and additional support from the Maryland State Department of Education, this event will be held at the UMBC campus in Baltimore, Maryland, and is co-hosted and co-organized by the CS Matters in Maryland project team and the Maryland State Department of Education.UMBC President Freeman Hrabowski, III, will deliver the summit's keynote address. The event will also feature sessions on a range of topics, including curriculum and standards, teacher preparation, and classroom and school resources.The event is open to teachers, administrators, higher education and industry representatives, and anyone who is (or would like to become) involved with K-12 computing education in the Maryland region. Please note that capacity is limited, and priority will be given to individuals who have been nominated by their school systems. The early registration deadline for this event is February 29, with additional registrations accepted on a capacity-limited basis.
