Computing teacher professional development in Atlanta, GA for summer 2013by ECEP Migration 2022 May 9, 2013 UncategorizedGeorgia Tech's Institute for Computing Education (ICE) is hosting 3 professional development workshops this summer in Atlanta Georgia.Getting started with Java - May 28-31st 2013 taught by Crystal Furman and Kyle Justice - both experienced teachers of beginning programming and AP CS A. This course is intended to help teachers get started with Java so that they can become AP CS A teachers.CS Principles - Big Ideas - June 17-21, 2013 taught by Rebbeca Dovi one of the teachers of the current pilots. This week will focus on the non-programming part of CS Principles.CS Princples programming (App Inventor and Python) - July 8 - 12th, 2013 - Barb Ericson - experienced PD provider and one of the developers of Media ComputationSee http://coweb.cc.gatech.edu/ice-gt/10 for more information and how to register. Due to a NSF grant we can pay for hotel costs for a certain number of teachers who live more than 30 miles away. We can also cover food and parking. We are not paying for transportation to Atlanta.
