The CS Education Dashboard is an interactive tool for understanding K12 CS in TX.
Landscape Report
This white paper, published in 2014, launched the broadening participation in computing efforts in Texas. It summarized the state of CS enrollment and lack of teacher preparation at the time, making recommendations for building a more robust pipeline across K12 through systemic improvements. Input was gathered from the CS Task Force members and numerous other stakeholders to identify barriers to high quality and consistent CS education across Texas. Each primary barrier is further explained in detail along with an accompanying recommendation for overcoming the barrier. CS education advocates, coalescing around the CS4TX brand, leveraged this paper to work with policymakers, enacting 3 of the 4 recommendations over the subsequent 10 years.
