Upcoming Workshops

The Expanding Computing Education Pathways (ECEP) Alliance is providing a "How to Run Sustainable and Effective Computing Summer Camps" workshop for college/university faculty and staff, non-profits who offer camps at colleges and universities, and high school teachers who are interested in starting or expanding computing summer camps. Attendees will be eligible to apply for up to $4999.99 in "seed" money for equipment for the camps.  The workshops will take place at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and University of Texas, Austin with an introductory webinar which will be offered to give you some preliminary details before the workshops.

What you will learn:

  • What to consider when starting or expanding computing summer camps for 4th-12th graders
  • Equipment/tools that can be used in camps
  • Details on how to run, advertise, and evaluate the camps
  • How to apply for up to $4,999.99 in seed funds. We have a total of $45,000 in seed funds for equipment for the camps thanks to a generous gift from Oracle and funds from NSF. Only those from ECEP partner and associate states (AL, CA, CT, GA, IN, MA, MD, NH, PR, SC,TX, and UT) can apply for the seed funds for equipment.

Cost
These workshops are FREE and we have limited funds to reimburse for up to $100 in expenses for travel to the workshop for people (only from partner and associate states) who live more than 30 miles away.
