Maryland Hosts Second Computing Education Summit

ECEP seed funds support computing camps at 9 institutions for summer 2016

Feb. 10, 2016 -- The Expanding Computing Education Pathways (ECEP) Alliance is happy to announce that they have awarded "seed" funding for equipment to 9 institutions to help them start or expand computing summer camps for the summer of 2016.  The funding was provided by a generous grant from Oracle and from the National Science Foundation.  Each institution will offer at least 2 sessions of computing summer camps for elementary and/or middle school students.

25 ECEP state leaders gather, focus on equity in CS education

February 1, 2016 - On the heels of President Obama’s announcement of CS For All, an initiative to insure that all students have the opportunity to learn computer science in school,  state leaders convened in Washington DC on January 31st, 2016 for the Expanding Computing Science Education (ECEP) Alliance Annual Meeting.  The meeting brought together 25 state leaders, project evaluators, and principal investigators all dedicated to broadening participation in computing.
 

Massachusetts gearing up for #csedweekMA!

December 4, 2015 - The Commonwealth Alliance for Information Technology Education (CAITE) and Expanding Computing Education Pathways (ECEP) Alliance have been promoting and supporting CS Education Week in Massachsuetts since 2010.  This year, CAITE has partnered with the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council's Education Foundation (MassTLC) to promote CS Ed Week in the Bay State by providing CS Ed Week kits to educators.  Each kit includes a

First TACSE statewide meeting a success

November 1, 2015 - The Texas Alliance for Computer Science Education (TACSE) held its first statewide meeting on October 14, 2015 to coincide with the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing in Houston, Texas. By all standards, the meeting was a success, generating so much interest and a large turnout that the meeting space was expanded to accommodate more people.
