Friday, December 4, 2015

December 4, 2015 - The Commonwealth Alliance for Information Technology Education (CAITE) and Expanding Computing Education Pathways (ECEP) Alliance have been promoting and supporting CS Education Week in Massachsuetts since 2010.  This year, CAITE has partnered with the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council's Education Foundation (MassTLC) to promote CS Ed Week in the Bay State by providing CS Ed Week kits to educators.  Each kit includes a poster,  CS Ed Week 2015 buttons for teachers, "Computer Science Rocks!" buttons for their students, as well as a sample press release that teachers can use with local media. Over 120 schools across the state requested kits to help promote their activiites and events for CS Ed Week. In advance of CS Ed Week, MassTLC also distributed these CS Ed Week kits  at an event on Nov. 17 at the State House in Boston, where students helped their representatives learn to code and shared their enthusiam for CS education with educators, industry leaders, and legislators.  The Massachusetts Celebrates CSEdWeek poster and the sample press release can be downloaded here.

To promote CS Ed Week, CAITE is now on social media!  You can now follow CAITE (@CAITE6) on Facebook and Twitter for news and updates on CS Ed Week and computer science education in Massachusetts. CAITE is encouraging Massachusetts educators and students to share their ideas and enthusiam for CS Ed Week on social media at #csedweekMA.
